So your ready to purchase Assistive Technology... Where should you purchase it from? I'm sure that you have done a google search and there are many online sites where the equipment can be purchased. If you have contacted the manufacturer of the product they have probably told you to contact your local vendor. The local vendors I have dealt with are Sage Vision Technologies and Keystone Magnification. So why should you purchase from a local vendor? Local vendors assist the customer in choosing a piece of technology to suit their specific needs. Sage Vision Technology as well as Keystone Magnification frequent Assistive Technology Expos in the area where customers can view, try equipment, and ask questions. Keystone Magnification has a store located in West Reading where customers can also try equipment. Sage Vision Technologies has assisted Teachers of the Visually Impaired choosing equipment for Students. Their Vendors have come to schools with with several different CCTV systems for the students, parents, and staff to try and ask questions about. If your trying to adapt equipment and need to ask questions about your device how make it compatible with other technology these local vendors are friendly and informative. The local Vendors also supply School Districts and Intermediate Units with discounted prices listed on the PA Bid list.
